can we have a few fsg headcanons?
Of course! Here are a few headcanons for Fellswap Gold.
The rule "oppress or be oppressed" is not an actual rule, and Toriel is not responsible for this. Before the incident with Frisk and MK everything was peaceful. Monster Kid was adopted before Asriel was born. MK and Asriel were very close. Asriel was more cheerful than he is now.
MK was the one to find Frisk, the first fallen human. The King and Queen hid them from the other Monsters. Frisk, Asriel and MK grew very close, and the whole family was very happy. But one day, someone found out about Frisk, and the Rebellion Group wanted to take Frisks SOUL. They eventually did manage to kill Frisk. Toriel lost her eyes as she was trying to protect Frisk. MK took accidentally Frisks SOUL. The rebellion group also managed to kill him.
Asriel was angry at his parents, and he blamed them for it. He went to live alone in snowdin. Asgore lost his mind and went to live in the Ruins leaving a blind Toriel on her own
After that Monsters started to kill each other. The Rebellion Group against anyone who wasn´t on their side. The reason why the civilians also despise the Royal Guards is because they believe that its their fault that the rebellion group even got inside the castle in the first place.
And here are some headcanons for the Characters as well:
Toriel: She has her vision back now thanks to Gaster. Despite what happens she is still very kind and is doesn´t like violent, but she is also way more stern and serious. She doesn´t joke as much either. It is rare for her to get outside, but once in a while she does walk around talks to the Monsters. And she visits Wine now and then. They joke together, talk about a lot of things, and he makes dresses for her.
Asgore: He is overwhelmed with guilt. He left Asriel, the only child he has left and his injured wife just because he was afraid. Asgore is not the cheerful goat that he used to be. He is very anxious, and can't see the difference between an illusion and reality. But thanks to Chara he slowly gets better. He finally learned how to brew normal tea again. He did not find the courage yet to talk to his wife and his kid.
Gaster: Fellswap Gaster is female or at least uses she/her pronounce. She is very tall. She is even taller than Willow (Horrortale Papyrus). Used to be a royal scientist before she "disappeared". Thanks to her the Monsters adapted to the Underground pretty fast. She is not mute she can in fact talk, but since her voice a lot as if she was some sort of ghost, like it is very creepy, which is why she doesn´t talk much. Gaster was always very busy she would sometimes work for hours and simply forgetting about her sons. Despite that she has a very good relationship with her sons, and the royal family.
Undyne: is obsessed with giving Monsters stronger bodies. She grew up in a very dangerous environment where every Monsters were killing each other, and she is traumatized. Besides that, she also was manipulated by the Rebellion group. They made her believe that killing humans is the only chance to make the killing stop. After getting some professional help she was ashamed at what she did, and now she works hard to redeem herself.
Alphys: she is still very shy, but appears chill. She is very strong, and she is afraid of hurting others. A hardworking royal guard. Her relationship with Undyne is very tensed, but she and Wine are very good friends. Actually, Wine is her only friend that she has. Others either fear her or ignore her. And she loves Anime, but they are mostly wholesome she doesn´t like anime that are too brutal or too dark.

Tumblr media
Chara is the 8th human to fall into the underground, and is also the protagonist and the playable character. They can speak, but they don’t usually like to. They fell into the underground for an unknown reason and now they must try and exit it.
Tumblr media
Temmie is a goofy and crazed stuffed animal (stuffed monster?). They speak using random uppercase and lower case letters, they misspell words, and sometimes speaks gibberish, like how the temmies do in Undertale. They also run a shop of their own, selling various items. They can do crazy nonsensical things that usually involves their face.
Tumblr media
Asgore is the former king of the underground and went back to the Sanctuary due to unknown reasons. In the Sanctuary, Asgore usually helps the locals and is supportive of mostly everyone there. He likes to walk around and water the flowers every once in a while. When not watering flowers or conversing with others, he boils some nice and hot tea and drinks it next to the warm fire. He also occasionally sends letters to other monsters on the other side of the Sanctuary door.
Tumblr media
Mettacrit is the second mini-boss encountered in the Sanctuary. He appears egotistical and a outgoing during his shows, but is secretly caring and shy when alone. Both his bow and his crown are a gift from Asgore, once he moved back into the Sanctuary. His main goal is to entertain others, and make them smile.
Tumblr media
Sans is a lazy skeleton who is the older brother to Papyrus, and occasionally makes bad skeleton puns. Like his brother, he does things that defy physics and make no realistic sense. He is a giant space nerd, and is great friends with Toriel and Alphys. He has a multitude of jobs, some of these are being a sentry in the Frozen Tundra and the Volcanic Ashlands, a comedian at Grillby’s, and a member of the Royal Guard. He enjoys playing the trombone and has trouble solving crossword puzzles.
Tumblr media
Papyrus is a goofy and kind monster and is the younger brother of Sans. His only friend is Undyne, who he hangs out with most of the time. He likes to set up puzzles and create traps for potential humans, despite him falling in them most of the time. He dislikes Sans’s terrible puns, but he loves quality well-made ones. He also tends to break the laws of physics, like Sans. He looks up to Undyne as a role-model and he takes many ideas from her, and sometimes copies what she does. He seems egotistical, yet he just wants attention and someone to be friends with. He looks for the best in everyone, trying to help them with their struggles.
Tumblr media
Alphys is the current captain of the Royal Guard, a special force which task is to escort humans to the Capital and fights rebels. She joined the guard because of her love for humans, and a need to protect. Outside of work, Alphys sits in her house eating tubs of ice cream watching Mew Mew Kissie Cutie. She’s depressed and insecure about herself, wanting others to like her. She loves Undyne, but is too anxious to admit it. Sans and Alphys are co-workers, who love to hang out and chill off-duty. Her scouter serves no function, she just thinks it looks cool.
Tumblr media
Undyne is a fish monster who has a love for science, robotics, and explosions. Half of her face was burnt off in an accident , so she built herself a robotic covering. She’s the mentor and best friend of Papyrus, hoping one day, he can take her place as the Royal Scientist. Undyne is also in love with Alphys, being the one to initiate going out most of the time. When she was younger, she built a robotic body for one of her neighbors, wanting them to realize their dream. Now, they are an unstoppable duo, who do everything together.
Tumblr media
Blastonkap is the Underground's second-most famous monster, the first being Queen Toriel. They're a magician, playing with cards, rabbits, and all of the sorts! They are actually a ghost monster, who got given a robot body by the Royal scientist herself. Together, they show and tour around the underground with explosions and magic!
Tumblr media
Toriel. Toriel is the queen of the Underground, who took main control after the king mysteriously disappeared. She rules with a heavy burden, that being one of needing to kill seven human in order to free her kind. In order to help them get to her safely, she instilled a Royal Guard. One to guide humans towards her, and to protect her at any cost.

Undertale's main characters' nationalities based on their names (headcanon)
Papyrus: The Papyrus font was created by Chris Costello, and while I can't find out where he was originally from (possibly America), his last name "Costello" is of Irish origins. So let's say Papyrus is Irish.
Sans: The Comic Sans font was created by Vincent Connare (fun fact: in font form, Papyrus is older than Sans, since the Papyrus font was created in 1982 and the Comic Sans font was at least released in 1994), who is from Massachusetts, and his last name only has roots there. Thus, Sans is American.
Undyne: Her name probably originates from "undine", a category of imaginary, water-associated beings. This originates from the alchemical writings of Paracelsus, who was from Switzerland. Therefore, Undyne is Swiss.
Toriel: The trivia section of the Undertale Fan Wiki page points out that "Toriel" is a similar name to "Turiel", a watcher angel in Judaism, Christianity and Islam -- and it makes sense her name originated from that, since she became the watcher (or caretaker) of the Ruins. Turiel was in the Book of Enoch, an ancient apocalyptic religious text. So we can say Toriel is Israeli.
Asgore: Quoted from the Fan Wiki: "His first name is an anagram of the Latin word "Aegros," which can mean troublesome, anxious, sad, difficult, or reluctant." Asgore definitely ticks at least a few of these boxes in his personality. "Aegros" is an inflection of "aeger", which has origins in the Proto-Indo-European language (which, fun fact, is abbreviated into "PIE". Asgore and Toriel were destined to be together and you cannot change my mind) which, quoted from Wikipedia (I'm too lazy to write this down lmao), "is the lingustic reconstruction of the ancient common ancestor of the Indo-European languages, the most widely spoken language family in the world." So... yeah. Asgore could be from fuckin' anywhere. So I'm just gonna base his origins off his pre-theme song, Bergentrückung, which is translated from German as "King in the Mountain". Asgore is German. This is long. Moving on.
Asriel: No point into looking into his name since it's a blend of Asgore and Toriel. The name is used in Hebrew-speaking countries, apparently, reinforcing the idea that Toriel is Israeli. EDIT: Some tags from @blastlight when they reblogged this post brought up something really interesting about Asriel's name and how it relates to my headcanon on Toriel and Asgore's nationalities even more:
Tumblr media
So this could also reinforce the idea that Asgore is German! (In my headcanon, I mean. Lol.)
Mettaton: The fan wiki has three interpretations as to the origin of Mettaton's name, but I like this one best: ""Mettaton" is similar in pronunciation and spelling to "Metatron," the highest angel in Judeo-Islamic lore, also known as the Voice of God and Recording Angel, whose name is transliterated into Greek as MTT. This could be a reference to Shin Megami Tensei's Metatron specifically, as both have metallic appearances, have similar poses, and are very powerful late-game bosses." It all connects pretty well, and because Judeo-Islam could be the religion of some people in Greece, Mettaton could be Greek, too.
Alphys: Only thing I could find about her name was the Wiki Fan page saying it's an anagram of "Shy Pal" -- or that her name could be derived from the word "alpha" (leader), which could allude to her role as the Royal Scientist. Honestly, it feels like a rather weak idea, but it's the best we've got, so since the word "alpha" has Greek origins, I guess Alphys is Greek???? Maybe????
Frisk: The word "frisk" originated from 15th century English, so I guess it's an English name in a way? So Frisk could be from any of the English-speaking countries in the world, essentially. Idk. I'm putting my vaguest guesses last.
Chara: Obviously, Chara is probably short for "character". According to a website I found -- "Behind the Name" -- however, it is a Greek name meaning "happiness, joy" (could connote with their smile which contrasts Frisk's neutral face). So Chara is probably ALSO Greek.

Food for Thought
Does Napstablook become Napstabot in UnderSwap?
I’m not questioning whether or not Swap!Undyne builds Swap!Napstablook a robot body. The fact is, even with my headcanon that all the characters are the same as their original counterparts at SOUL-level, Undyne is a good friend, a caring neighbor, and Determined enough to set a goal and go for it. With my Goopson headcanon, she had a role model to get her interested in science, and while there isn’t enough evidence in UnderTale to tell whether or not Undyne would have a talent for engineering or anything else that Tale!Alphys works with, she could just be stubborn and studious enough to get results.
What I am questioning is whether or not Napstablook receives a stage name in UnderSwap and if the name would be designed to obscure the fact that this is a preexisting SOUL possessing a mechanical body, rather than a manufactured SOUL in a mechanical body. Since Mettaton’s name was changed with the express purpose of hiding his name for the Royal Scientist’s benefit, let’s start off by examining Tale!Alphys’s motivations and seeing if they hold up when applied to Swap!Undyne.
She had a crush on the monarch. For this to work in UnderSwap, Swap!Undyne would have to be similarly smitten with Queen Toriel. While we only know of the one crush she had in UnderTale, gender clearly isn’t an issue as Alphys and Toriel are both female. But that doesn’t mean Toriel is Undyne’s type. While it is mentioned in UnderTale that Undyne finds Alphys’s passion attractive, Alphys is hardly the only passionate character and Undyne doesn’t show romantic interest in anyone else, so there’s probably other factors.
It got her the job. This motive might have just been a consequence of the first, in the case of UnderTale’s canon. I have no clue how badly Alphys would have wanted the position of Royal Scientist if she did not have a crush on the King of Monsters. If Swap!Undyne is as ambitious as Tale!Undyne, it’s likely that she would have wanted the job regardless of if she had feelings for Queen Toriel or not, but that doesn’t mean that she would lie to get it. In UnderTale, instead of being devious or dishonest, Undyne pretty much wore Asgore down until he started training her. Convincing Toriel to make her a scientist might not result in tutoring, but Undyne seems like the type to try and one-up herself over and over again until she achieves her goal.
But even if Swap!Undyne isn’t the type to deceive the entire Underground in a plot to benefit herself, she might have felt pressured into keeping Napstablook’s nature a secret. After all, we never find out if the source of Alphys’s anxiety in UnderTale is:
an already-anxious nature, which would affect Swap!Alphys more than Swap!Undyne;
personal experiences from before she became the Royal Scientist, which might have affected Swap!Undyne similarly, especially since Tale!Undyne has been proven to be rather timid in certain situations--like giving a love letter to Alphys; or
the stress and guilt of everything that happened after she started working with Determination, which could not affect the naming of Napstablook’s robotic form unless Undyne was already the Royal Scientist and performed the experiments before building the body.
As for why someone would pressure her into lying in the first place, I doubt that Queen Toriel would encourage deceiving the Underground public about the nature of the robotic celebrity (especially since it would not really benefit the Underground), so she definitely wouldn’t talk Undyne into keeping it a secret. But what about Napstablook?
Like Alphys, we don’t know why Tale!Napstablook is shy. If he’s naturally that way, he might want to perform under a stage name so that he can maintain anonymity off-stage. By that reasoning, the only secret being kept is not whether or not Undyne manufactured a SOUL, but who the SOUL actually is/belongs to. Or maybe Napstablook just thinks his name isn’t catchy enough and prefers to be called “Napstabot”. Or “Napstaton”. I’ve seen some people say “Napstaton”...
...It’s kind of a multiple-choice situation.

Undyne x Alphys
Tumblr media
Okay so I really did my best on this one. I had a little bit of a brainfart and I didn't know what to do XD ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
More info under the cut
so I tried thinking of if they ever had a kid, what they would look like. I started with anything that looks like a fish/lizard, before it occurred to me that an axolotl would work really well.
This is Kaida. Which means “little dragon” thought it was fitting haha. Her eyes and teeth are the same as Undyne’s, while her shape and height, while also species were inspired off Alphys? She also has poor eyesight.
She’d also probably want to live in Waterfall because it is cooler there. Axolotls thrive in cold wet environments (mostly water like fish but Undyne doesn't live in the water so--)
As a child, I described her as shy and anxious, while also being very interested in science and marine life. But at home she’s loud because of her parents, she loves cooking with them. And she does do combat training, cause one day she wants to be a royal guard member and serve the king. For being short and nervous she’s surprisingly nimble. She does get into the royal guard when she grows up, but also works in the lab too, she does part time both jobs. I'd imagine she’d want to take Undyne’s position when she grows up too. Or Alphys’ royal scientist position.
Attacks are science like bubbles that float up from the bottom of the screen you have to move through to win. Or at least not get hurt.
I don't know I didn't get that far okay?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I suck at making fanchildren
